"Honoring all the brave pilots of the 356th Fighter Group
who flew into combat from Martlesham Heath 1943-1945.

Inscribed "The 356th Fighter Group expresses its gratitude to the Martlesham Heath Aviation Society for its devotion in perpetuating the memory of our service in World War II and for taking under its 'wing' during our flights of remembrance."
